Caritas Nigeria in collaboration with JDPC Northeast, organized a training workshop on strengthening election observation for improved governance. The training, held in Taraba State, aimed to enhance the capacity of JDPC staff and partners in the northeast region to promote free, fair, and credible elections.
The training focused on election observation principles, voter education, electoral laws, and result collation processes. Participants learned techniques for effective election observation, including identifying and reporting electoral malpractices. They also discussed strategies for promoting voter participation, gender inclusion, and peaceful elections.
Caritas Nigeria’s facilitators shared their expertise and experience in election observation, drawing from their extensive work in promoting democratic governance in Nigeria. JDPC staff and partners from the northeast region actively engaged in the training, sharing their own experiences and challenges.
The training aimed to:
