Water for Peace: JDPC implemented Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene

The Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) implemented a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) program in Zing Local Government Area (LGA). The program aimed to improve access to clean water and enhance the overall well-being of communities in the region.

Activities:

  1. Drilling of Boreholes: Three boreholes were drilled in strategic locations to provide clean water sources for the communities.
  2. Construction of Wells: Ten wells were dug and constructed to further expand access to clean water.

Goals:

  • Improve access to clean water for communities in Zing LGA
  • Reduce the incidence of water-borne diseases
  • Enhance the overall health and well-being of community members
  • Promote good hygiene practices through education and awareness

Program Impact:

  • Over 5,000 community members now have access to clean water sources
  • Incidents of water-borne diseases have significantly reduced
  • Community members have demonstrated improved knowledge and practice of good hygiene habits
